There are many ways you can serve!

If you would like to register a youth, find your Location in the "About Us" drop-down menu!

Is God calling you to serve?
We are excited to match your unique gifts and availability with the needs of our youth to get you started!

Mark Your Calendar!
We host a monthly orientation for Volunteer Applicants to complete the process to become Shepherd's Place Servant Leaders on the second Wednesday of each month from 6 - 7 p.m.
We provide all pertinent information, answer your questions, assist with completion and submission of paperwork, and schedule you to start serving!
Contact our Volunteer Coordinator at [email protected] or via FaceBook to register!

We Welcome Volunteer Groups!
Is your church group, youth group, workplace, Boy or Girl Scout Troup, club, organization, group of friends, etc. looking for a service outlet? You've come to the right place! Contact us and we will match your group with the appropriate way to help!
Volunteer adult Christian mentors form the core leadership of our program! You are invited to serve as a guide to youth in your area(s) of interest:
  • art
  • music
  • engineering/building
  • horticulture
  • study/tutoring/ACT/SAT prep
  • games/sports
  • cooking
Mentorship typically involves:
  • helping prepare and serve healthy snacks
  • helping youth complete a Bible-themed project in their area of interest (lessons and materials prepared in advance by staff - all you have to do is show up and be with the youth!)
  • Mentor youth by being a positive role model
  • Help youth learn practical life skills and develop their God-given talents
  • Help youth grow in faith by sharing how God has worked in your life
  • Help identify youth that may need extra help (food pantry help, tutoring, self-discipline, career guidance, etc.)
Leadership Requirements
We welcome volunteers of all ages, genders, racial/ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. There is a place for YOU to serve at The Shepherd's Place!
  1. To ensure the safety of our youth, we perform criminal background checks on all of our adult volunteers.
  2. Mentors complete Shepherd's Safety training (includes our rules and guidelines, basic first aid, safety, and child abuse and neglect recognition and reporting).
  3. Mentors read and sign all documents in our Servant Leader Handbook and Forms.
That's it!
Once you have completed these three steps, we'll work with your availability and area(s) of interest to get you scheduled to start making a difference in the lives of our youth!
Other Ways to Get Involved
Our volunteers serve in many capacities, including:
  • regstration
  • office work
  • construction and tradesmen work
  • housekeeping
  • prayer team
  • special guest presenters
If you don't see your area of skill or interest listed here, we still need your service!
Contact us and we'll find the special way God has gifted you to work with The Shepherd's Place!
We are also happy to accommodate youth and adults in need of community service hours.
Become a Shepherd's Rep!
Has God gifted you with leadership skills? Do you have a passion for inspiring others and making good things happen?
We train leaders to be Shepherd's Representatives within their organizations - churches, neighborhoods, extended families, community centers, clubs, workplaces, businesses, etc.
Shepherd's Reps:
  • inspire their friends, family members, associates, and neighbors to answer God's call to serve
  • create a service team of dedicated volunteers
  • act as a liaison between their team and our Volunteer Coordinator, scheduling opportunities for service as individuals or a whole group
If you are interested in taking your service to the next level and becoming a Rep, please contact us!
